Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

If there’s anything I know about cooking, it’s this: Being able to taste the summer while you’re mired in the cold depths of winter is just about the best thing ever.

Tomatoes from the garden, sunny basil, sharp garlic and earthy olive oil, brightened with a handful of homegrown herbs and just a little salt.

That’s pretty much what spaghetti sauce is—summer in a jar.
